Christopher Gibson is an Associate Professor of Law at the SUFFOLK UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL (Boston, Massachusetts). He was employed most recently as a partner in the London office of Steptoe & Johnson, where he specialized in the areas of international dispute resolution, technology and intellectual property in an international context. Following law school graduation, Prof. Gibson was a law clerk to a federal district judge in the Northern District of California, then served as a Legal Assistant at the Iran-United States Claim Tribunal in the Hague and was later engaged in legal practice in San Francisco. He also served for three years as Senior Legal Officer for the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva (Head of the "C" Claims Division), followed by a four year period as Head of the Electronic Commerce Law Section and Legal Officer of the Arbitration Center of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva. Prof. Gibson holds a BA from University of Chicago; an MPP from Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University; and a JD from University of California, Berkeley. Professor Gibson has lectured and published extensively on international dispute resolution, international arbitration, electronic commerce and intellectual property.
