Ms. Sarita Woolhouse is an independent consultant, specialises in international arbitrations - both commercial and investment treaties. She has acted and advised in arbitrations under various institutional rules such as UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA and the Vienna Rules. She recently acted for the Government of India in the BIT arbitrations commenced by GE and Bechtel under the Indo-Mauritius BITs in relation to the Dabhol power project in Maharashtra, India. Ms. Woolhouse has published various articles and spoken at several conferences in the UK and abroad. She has also advised investors on their rights and States on their international treaty obligations. She has wide-ranging experience of commercial litigation in the UK and construction arbitration in India. Prior to establishing as a consultant she has worked at the London offices of Herbert Smith and Watson, Farley & Williams, and as an advocate in India. Ms. Woolhouse was called to the Bar in 1994 and admitted as a solicitor in England in 1998. She is currently a non-practising member of the Inner Temple. She holds degrees from Cambridge University, UK and University of Poona, India.
