FDI Moot Sponsorship There are various ways to support the FDI Moot:
Team sponsorship may cover all or part of a team's registration fee, travel costs, or accommodation. A pledge may be restricted to a team from a certain university, city, state or country, time-frame or even use. We encourage sponsors not to be too restrictive. Team stipend pledges play an important role in teams' decisions to participate, in particular for teams from universities and countries that are not well resourced. All pledges will be listed on our website, not only in order to acknowledge the generosity of sponsors, but also to help teams in finding appropriate assistance. Social event sponsors assume the financial responsibility for cocktail receptions, opening or closing dinners, lunches, etc. (PoA). CILS staff will assist with venues, caterers and budgeting. Sponsors who wish to contribute to an event with a fixed sum will be identified as co-hosts. In 2008, we anticipate 50 team members, 15 arbitrators, 5 board members, 10 sponsors, 5 organisers. Social events planned are:
Social event sponsorship benefits include:
A sponsor may offer a cash prize for the winning team, for the best memorial or counter memorial. We envisage a minimum of $1000 and a maximum of $3000. If a sponsor wishes to offer more, a multi year arrangement or offering several prizes (e.g. regional incentives) would be advisable. A law firm could sponsor an internship at its office in city X, Y or Z (with cost of living stipend) for one, two, ... months for the best oralist as an individual prize. A cash prize for an individual would also be possible. A sponsor may wish to encourage participation from a particular region by offering a prize to the best team from Latin America, Asia, Africa, .... If a sponsor wished to be more specific, then a team sponsorship pledge would be advisable (see above). Fellowship opportunities, course scholarships and tuition rebates and book prizes would also be possible. Prize sponsors will be listed on the competition website (including revolving logo display), print materials, and certificate of award. Significant sole prize sponsors may name and present the prize at the awards ceremony.
